3G/HSDPA is the latest in Cellular type Broadband and it offers many benefits.
The mobility of this technology is one of its main benefits. Users that travel can easily
access the Internet, view their email, chat via Internet messaging or use Skype.
You can also connect to your office network in real time to collaborate or work on
documents.
There is a high percentage of cellular coverage in South Africa - most of these
areas covered will support 3G or HSDPA. Even if 3G/HSDPA is not available,
you should be able to connect to the Internet through other cellular signals such as
EDGE or GPRS. Your card will automatically find the highest attainable
speed (HSDPA, 3G, EDGE and then GPRS).
3G/HSDPA is a great way to compliment other fixed broadband solutions such as ADSL.
You can have the benefits of your fixed line in conjunction with the benefits of the
mobility that come from having 3G/HSDPA. Also note that ADSL is not available in all
areas; therefore 3G/HSDPA makes an ideal alternative to ADSL for people living in
these areas.
3G/HSDPA is also cost effective, as you only pay for data that is uploaded
or downloaded. You are not charged when your connection is standing idle (little or
no bandwidth is used), plus you can purchase additional data bundles in various
increments. If you exceed your data bundle, you will stay connected and be billed
at an Out Of Bundle rate of only R1.14 per MB (charged for in arrears).
We offer both a 6 month contract and a 24 month contract, unlike most other providers
of this technology who only offer a 24 month contract.
